Azbukarche is the first Bulgarian school in Glasgow. We opened in 2018 as a pre-school playgroup, and today we teach pupils from the preparatory year through to grade XII — in person in Glasgow and online across Scotland and the UK.
Beyond language lessons, Saturdays at Azbukarche mean Bulgarian culture, holidays, folk dance and friendships — a small Bulgaria in the heart of Glasgow.
Learning
From first letters to confident reading
Teaching follows the curricula approved by the Bulgarian Ministry of Education and Science for Bulgarian schools abroad. The school is approved under Decree № 90 for the 2026/2027 school year.
